I love all the uneducated non fishermen in the comments butthurt over a trash fish that literally spawns in the millions. For everyone who doesn’t know or live or fish in NJ, These fish are everywhere. You can’t stop them. A million die and 2 million more spawn in their place. Let the circle of life do it’s job. The fisherman are just taking advantage. It’s free bait. $2.50 a piece fresh. “Oh the fish can’t breathe they’re dying this is a die off!” And that’s the fisherman’s fault? So what man. Even if they die off something else will eat those fish. The circle of life continues.

Hi i fish down there quite abit was woundering if that wooden stair case was open to the public or if you have to pay someone i come down and have to cross the narrow section above where your at and can be difficult at times.

The bait fish are not being attacked by large blues, they are dying from a red-tide plankton bloom that is cutting off oxygen to the fish. Note that the fish are attempting to swim on their sides to at least expose one set of gills to surface air. Shortly they will all wash up on the shore.
